LEARNING TO SAY "NO" MIGHT BE THE BEST SKILL YOU'LL EVER LEARN.
Success Doesn’t Care About Your Feelings: Work Harder, No One Cares.
You want to get damn good at rejection?
Here’s my advice: Become a master at telling people “NO.”
To become a master, you must do three things:
1. Become absolutely clear on the outcome of your goals
2. Eliminate everything and everyone blocking the path to your outcome
3. Attack each step towards your goals with laser-sharp focus on the outcome
“Only when you say ‘no’ to something ‘good’ do you gift yourself the opportunity to say ‘yes’ to something that will shake the course of your life.”
You see, when you’re unclear about your goals, it’s difficult to say no to the requests of people.
When you’re unclear, you won’t be quick enough to determine if what people are asking of you actually serves your purpose: achieving your goals.
So, what happens? You go about your life aimlessly accepting all the tasks that don’t truly support your mission.
The mission that beckons to be expressed and pursued full-heartedly.
Spinelessly saying “yes” to everything, you end up making excuses for your lack of progress.
You may say that there’s not enough time in the day.
Don’t fool yourself.
There is enough time.
*We all start with the same 24 hours*
You’re just spending it on the wrong things that aren’t leading to you accomplishing your goals, because you never learned to say “NO.”
When you become clear about what you want, everything you do will be related in some way to achieving it.
When you do this, you will be more productive than you ever thought possible.
But wait…by saying “no” aren’t you closing a door forever? That’s scary!
Here’s the thing, in life, only when you close one door completely,
do you give yourself the permission to open another door,
The door that will take you a step closer
To a better job, a better relationship, and a better life…
….Perhaps the life you’ve deserved all along.
